Iowa Rock' n Roll Music Scholarship Foundation
The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Scholarship Foundation was established on January 1, 2004 as a means to encourage Iowa college-bound students to study and prepare for musical professions.
The primary objective of this Foundation is to increase the fund while at the same time awarding scholarships without disturbing the principle. Scholarships will be made available on an annual basis.

All donors are provided with a receipt in the amount of the donation. Donations are tax deductible through IRRMA’s 501 C 3 non-profit status.
To qualify for these funds applicants must be residents of Iowa and must be pursuing an education in a music related course of study at an accredited institution recognized by the IRRMA Scholarship Fund Committee.
All Incoming freshmen and current full-time students who are Iowa residents and are pursuing a career in music are encouraged to apply. Applications are valid for one year only. Requests must be renewed each year.

Application Instructions
1. Please read all instructions and complete the application in full.
2. Applications which are not complete will be disqualified.
3. Please note--a new application must be submitted each year.
4. Please make copies of your application and keep for your records.
Application Deadline
Applications will be accepted from January 1st to July 1st each calendar year. Funds permitting a scholarship will be awarded for the spring semester of the following calendar year.

Each Scholarship Application Packet Must Contain the following:
1. Completed Iowa Rock 'N Roll Music Association (IRRMA) Scholarship Application Form.
2. Copy of college entrance acceptance letter from the college to be attended.
3. Two letters/forms of recommendation from non-relative community members explaining student’s potential, experiences, work ethic, ambition and character. These may include, but are not limited to an appropriate instructor, guidance counselor, past or present employer, member of the clergy, etc. Two recommendation forms have been included in this booklet for your convenience. The recommendation letters/forms should accompany the application.
4. A one page summary. A summary, in essay form, including a personal history, educational and career goals, reasons student feels he/her is deserving of this music scholarship and other factors that are relevant to any scholarships for which the student is applying. If the applicant meets specific criteria mentioned for the scholarship, be sure to include that in the summary.
5. A photo (no smaller than wallet sized) of applicant.
Submit all required forms to IRRMA by the above mentioned scholarship deadline date. Postmarks will not count. The applications must be in the IRRMA office by the deadline. Applications received after the deadline will be disqualified. If scholarship deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, applications will be accepted the following business day.

The student awarded the Scholarship:
1. Will be notified in writing.
2. Will receive the funds when a copy of the transcript of the fall college semester’s grades has been received in the IRRMA office. The student must have successfully completed all fall semester courses.
