Eddie Randall and the Downbeats--This group from the Cedar Rapids, Waterloo area began their career in 1956 and were one of Iowa's first rock and roll bands.

They released their first record in 1957 on the QT label. "Downbeat Rock/Fools Paradise" and later released "the Story of Rock and Roll/Diana Lee" on the ABC-Paramount label recorded at the legendary Chess Studios in Chicago.

 The Downbeats toured and shared the stage with many of the top recording stars of the day, including Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everly Brothers, Del Shannon, Conway Twitty and Buddy Holly. They played clubs and ballrooms from Chicago to Minneapolis to Des Moines.

 The band broke up in 1966, Eddie moved to California and is still an active musician.

 Members being inducted include Eddie Randall, Ray Gautney, Duane Conrad, Paul Buchanan, George Clark , Monty Tharp and Ernie Klatt.
