2009 IRRMA Scholarship Winner Announced

Corbet Butler has been named the 2009 recipient of the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association Scholarship. Corbet is the son of Pat and Maxine Butler of Spirit Lake, Iowa.

A junior at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake , Butler is majoring in Instrumental Music Education. He accepted his scholarship award at the 2009 IRRMA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Concert on September 6, 2009 in the Roof Garden at Arnolds Park .

In presenting the award, IRRMA President John Senn said, “We had 14 outstanding students apply for this year’s scholarship from all over Iowa . We are pleased to present it to a student who really loves music and will continue to nourish that love in the future through his students.”

The IRRMA Music Scholarship Foundation was created in 2004. Butler is the fourth recipient of the award.
