Music Lovers Are Coming Home To Arnolds Park

This Labor Day weekend, music lovers are coming home to Arnolds Park to celebrate Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association’s 22nd year of recognizing achievements in Iowa’s music industry with the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame 2018 Induction Spectacular sponsored by Estes Construction and KUOO Radio.


Starting Saturday September 1st, a Fundraiser Breakfast will take place from 8am-11am in the Majestic Pavilion at Arnolds Park Amusement Park. Chris Cakes will provide all the pancakes and sausage you can eat for $8/plate. Proceeds for this event will go toward the new Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Museum. From 9-11am, walk around Preservation Plaza and enjoy the Hall of Fame Festival complete with kid’s activities, food, and vendors. At 10am, enjoy the Hall of Fame Parade down Park Street and Broadway, ending at the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Patio for brief opening remarks from the City and Association. Starting at 11am, free Hall of Fame Workshops will take place throughout Arnolds Park Amusement Park (Drums led by 2018 Inductee Duane “Nudie” Binder, Song Writing led by 2018 Inductees Mike Butterworth and Jason Walsmith, Guitar led by 2018 Inductee Gary Richards, and Bass led by 2018 Inductee David Ellefson).


Starting at 1pm on September 1st, Iowa Rocks Talent Finals take place in the Roof Garden in Arnolds Park where eight bands and six individuals who advanced from qualifying events across the state will compete for recording time at Catamont Recording and the opening slot at the 2018 Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Concert. A Classic Car Show also starts at 1pm on Park Street. A private Lifetime Members Dinner with 2018 Inductees will take place from 5:30-7pm in the Majestic Pavilion. From 7-9pm a Meet & Greet in the Majestic Pavilion will take place for the general public to get to know the 2018 Inductees.


On Sunday September 2nd, the 2018 Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place at the Sami Center in Spirit Lake starting at 2pm. An Autography Party is in the Majestic Pavilion from 4:30-5:30pm where the public can get posters and shirts signed by Inductees. Starting at 6pm, the six-hour 2018 Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Concert takes place in the Roof Garden in Arnolds Park.


All events are free aside from the Fundraiser Breakfast, Induction Ceremony, and Induction Concert. Tickets for both the concert and ceremony range from $35-45 and are available online at
