Al, Larry & the Untouchables

Members: Al Huntzinger, Larry Fountain, Ron Hamad, Frank Glaser, Ernie Dvorak, and Bob Gaston
The Untouchables got their start in 1960 when Al Huntzinger & Larry Fountain of Cedar Rapids decided to start a band of their own.
The formation of the Untouchables included: Al Huntziner-drums, Larry Fountain-guitar, Ernie Dvorak-sax, Ron Hamad-guitars, Bob Keith-keyboards, Bill Alley-bass, & Mel Winder-Guitar. During this period Frank Glaser and Bob Gaston would also play and work with the Untouchables.
The Group became top draws at such classic ballrooms as The Danceland in Cedar Rapids, The Roof Garden at Lake Okoboji, The Val Air in Des Moines, The Cobblestone in Storm Lake, and The Laramar in Ft. Dodge.
In 1964, the group would head to the Fredlo Studios in Davenport to record and release their only record on Huntzinger's label, Hunt Records. It was the excellent surf cover of "Church Key" backed by the traditional "Danny Boy" (Hunt #450)
After the release of their record, the group hung up its rock and roll shoes.
Huntzinger would go on to form Hunt booking Agency one of Eastern Iowa's most successful rock booking agencies.
For the four years that Al, Larry & The Untouchables were together they left behind many rockin' memories. it was a classic "Iowa Sound.”
