2000 - Band

Members: Don Daugherty, Glenn Goodwin, Tom Dwyer, Mike Clough, Dick Douglas, Ron Dewitte, Steve Havlicek, Roger Sahs and Al "Lindy" Linda

 

The Legends were formed in the summer of 1962 by Don Daugherty of Cedar Rapids, and cousin Glenn Goodwin of Ottumwa. Together they formed a tight musical bond that has lasted nearly 40 years.

In 1965 the group hosted their own Saturday afternoon TV show on WHO, Des Moines, "The Des Moines Discotheque". Over the years that the group was together, they garnered many awards, appearing throughout the state of Iowa at all the major ballrooms.

After five successful years, the band retired their name and became The American Legends. Members inducted: Don Daugherty, Glenn Goodwin, Tom Dwyer, Mike Clough, Dick Douglas, Ron Dewitte, Steve Havlicek, Roger Sahs and Al "Lindy" Linda.
