Gretsch Guitar Art Program
The Art Guitar program, started in 2004, places eight guitars donated by the Gretsch Guitar Company to the IRRMA in the art departments of schools around Iowa every year where they are decorated in a musical theme. The guitars are submitted on Memorial Day, placed on display over the summer in the Iowa Rock ’n’ Roll Museum and then judged on Labor Day weekend by a panel of artists and through people’s choice.
The two winning guitars remain in the museum for a year, and the winning art departments are awarded gift certificates for purchasing art supplies. The non-winning guitars are auctioned off with the proceeds going to the IRMMA education program.
This is a very popular program that we hope to continue providing well into the future. If you are interested in participating in this wonderful program, please contact us.
THE RESULTS ARE IN!

The contest is sponsored each year by the Gretsch Guitar Foundation of Savannah, GA and the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association. The first place winning schools receive gift certificates to purchase art supplies for their respective high school art departments. Money raised at auction is used toward the day to day operations of the IRRMA Music Museum.
