Congratulations Eli Dykstra
2018 Winner of Individual Iowa Rocks Talent
Eli Dykstra Rocks!
At only 16, Eli Dykstra Rocks! continues to make new fans by doing something a little different: he’s a solo act but brings the energy of a full band with his engaging stage presence and the use of backing tracks, which he created and played as well.
Playing his own instrumental compositions, Eli uses the guitar as his voice, leaving audiences impressed with his ability to put them in a trance with a simple, haunting song or fire them up with shredding that proves Eli truly does rock!
Youth Gone Wild
Youth Gone Wild is a metal/hard rock band out of Waterloo. It was formed in June of 2015 by 2 former members of the band Minitallica, Kaden Karns and John Fowler. They brought in Derek Powers on drums and Wyatt Walters on bass who was later replaced by current bassist, Orion Polendo.
Their love and admiration for metal bands like Metallica, Pantera and Avenged Sevenfold inspired them to cover their music and recently start writing their own. Youth Gone Wild love playing shows and interacting with fans that share their love for music. Music brings people together.
In the future the band plans to write more originals, expand the selection of material covered, produce an album and continue doing what they love not only in Iowa but at venues across the Nation.

Congratulations Liberty Hall Collective
2015 Winner of Youth Battle of the Bands
Liberty Hall Collective
Liberty Hall Collective is an indie pop-rock band from Storm Lake, Iowa. LHC is composed of band members Brett Pongratz, Chase Harrison, and Kamron Warden. From The Beatles to Ty Segall to Panic at the Disco, Liberty Hall Collective’s music has been compared to a number of sounds, but it truly has no equals.
Forged from a mutual necessity for music making in Storm Lake, Iowa in late 2013, the group is founded on a unique blend of 60's and 70’s-bred pop, modern-rock sensibilities, and a unconditional love of all kinds of music. This is aided by an exciting and dynamic stage show with as many twists and turns as a great novel.
The band’s second album, Lights, shows the band’s scope and scale expertly, from earth-shattering arena rock to reserved, delicate jazz-pop ventures.
Bad Authority. Recapturing the true spirit of rock and roll with big hair, loud guitars, wailing vocals, and relentless energy. Influenced by artists such as KISS, Led Zeppelin, Dokken, Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, and many more. Bad Authority delivers a rip-roaring, explosive rock and roll show to be enjoyed by listeners of all ages.
The band, hailing from Carroll, Iowa, was founded in the summer of 2012 by guitarist Kyler Brinker, drummer Ted Ramaekers, and bassist Miles Millard. The band initially performed as Black Diamond but changed the name to Bad Authority in February of 2015.
In August of 2014, Bad Authority (performing as Black Diamond) competed in the first annual Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association’s Battle of the Bands, a state-wide competition for bands to compete and showcase the music they love. The group took first place in the Central Iowa region competition held in Des Moines, Iowa, and later went on to win first place in the statewide competition held in Okoboji, Iowa.
The band was recognized as Iowa’s best band under the age of 21 and was honored at the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Sami Bedell Center for Performing Arts in Spirit Lake, Iowa. The band opened the Hall of Fame Induction Concert later that night.
