2017 - Band

Band Members: Jeff Brandt, Gina Brandt, Roger Meyers, Steve Rorebeck, Gary Powers

Jeff Brandt and Galaxy formed in 1979 in Des Moines, Iowa, performing their first show together as a Tribute to Elvis Concert at the United Rubber Workers Hall in Des Moines, Iowa. Jeff and his band were most known for their variety show style performing all over the state of Iowa. Each show consisted of a current set of music, a 50’s Rock and Roll set, a contemporary country set, and finishing the night with their famous Tribute to Elvis Presley complete with costume changes for each set. The group could be found regularly in the Des Moines area at venues like Stuart Andersons Cattle Company, Holiday Inn South, the Airport Inn, Fitzwillys - Hotel Fort Des Moines, The Executive Inn, The Hawaiian Inn, to name a few. Jeff Brandt and Galaxy were also the mainstay entertainment for Master Jacks at the Iowa State Fair for many years and were the entertainment for The Autorama at Vets Auditorium and performed at many of the televised Charity telethons.

In 1983, the group hit the road and toured extensively throughout the Midwest performing primarily at Hilton, Marriot, Red Lion and Holiday Inn properties as well as special events and fairs.

In 1986, Jeff and his wife Gina decided they wanted to start a family and the band returned to Iowa and Jeff began a career in Radio Broadcasting working under Jarrett Day of KSO Radio in Des Moines, then as music director at KJJC in Osceola, Iowa followed by becoming the station manager of KXLQ in Indianola, Iowa. Galaxy continued to perform throughout central Iowa.

In 1990, Jeff received a job offer to perform at Roy Clarks Lodge of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri, and so he, Gina and their two children, Michael and Kaethe, made a move to Branson. In 1999, Jeff and his family moved to Las Vegas after working with several shows in Branson, (see Jeff’s Bio) to continue his work with the Wayne Newton show which he was with for 13 years. In 2006, Jeff Brandt and Galaxy began a series of reunion shows while still living in Vegas. The shows were such a success and met with SOLD OUT crowds, the Brandt’s decision to move back to Branson in 2007, where they currently reside. Galaxy is in full swing doing reunion concerts, and Midwest road shows to date. What started in a garage on the east side of Des Moines in 1979 has turned into SOLD OUT shows and continued performances to this day.
