The Decades to Perform Induction Weekend
A group of hall of fame members, created to pay tribute to the late Joel Kipp, The Decades are set to perform at the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association Induction Weekend Kick-off Concert.
The Decades had not played together in an on-stage performance prior to April 18 of this year. The talented line-up of musicians, including Rick Hall (IRRMA Class of 2012), Dennis Duke (IRRMA Class of 2012), Mick Staebell (IRRMA Class of 2014), Bob Saar (IRRMA Class of 2014), Andy Avery (IRRMA Class of 2015), Nudie Binder, and Gary Richards set out to pay tribute to the late Joel Kipp in that April concert. After a successful tribute night, the band decided to continue to play, honoring Kipp and his legacy of rock and roll history.
“I was lucky enough to hear this band in their inaugural performance in Burlington in April, and I know that our crowd at the Roof Garden is in for a treat,” says IRRMA Director of Operations, Andrea Wiesenmeyer. “Their range and sound is second to none! We are excited and honored that they wanted to be part of our weekend festivities.”
Doors open at 7:30 PM and music for the Kick-off concert will start at 8:00 PM and run until 10:00 PM on Friday, September 4 at the Roof Garden in Arnolds Park. Tickets are $10 at the door.
