Scott Sanborn’s distinguished broadcasting career began nearly four decades ago in Maryland, as the disc jockey of an AM radio station. From that first job, Sanborn moved on to eventually land in his current position, co-anchor of the CBS 2 News on Fox 28 News at Nine.

Sanborn is best known for his many years in broadcast journalism in Iowa’s Creative Corridor. Over the course of two decades in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City region, Sanborn’s work has earned numerous awards including two Upper Midwest Regional Emmys. He also received top honor for in depth reporting from the Iowa Broadcast News Association for his “Heart to Heart” series.

In addition to this professional commitments, Sanborn volunteers extensively for local organizations. His love of rock ‘n roll music has been witnessed by thousands at local concerts and festivals where he has served as Emcee. Sanborn also produced and hosted a segment on local television called Friday Morning Music Box which promoted the weekend music scene by featuring local groups performing live in the studio.

A drummer since his youth, Sanborn also played in a family blues/rock trio called “The Basement Dwellers” featuring his daughter, Erin, and son, Ryan on bass and guitar respectively. Their most memorable show was a fund raiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids when they opened for “Starship.”
