Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association is partnering with KUOO this year to preserve the legacy of rock ‘n roll. Rock The Roof, kicks off June 21st at the Roof Garden Ballroom. Paid for in part by the Iowa Tourism Office, Rock The Roof is sponsored by The Oakwood Inn, Walker Insurance Agency, Table 316, Erichsen, Kallsen, & Associates, The Ritz, Smokin' Jakes, City of Spirit Lake, and Arnolds Park Amusement Park.
Featuring music from Daybreak, Rock a la Carte, Cloud Ten, Andy Yaun, Jessie James & The Outlaws, Starfire, Richie Lee, Denise Shipler, Interstate Cruisers, Sean Benz, DC Drifters, TJ Express, Galaxy Variety Band, Dogs On Skis, Surfin’ Safari, Kevin & Shane Gang, Mogen’s Heros, Dennis Nelson Band, Mosquito Flats, Expressions, and an all-star tribute to Roy Orbison and Bobby Goldsboro as well as the popular Elvis night, Rock The Roof runs June 21st through August 30th.
An Iowa Great Lakes summer staple since 1997, Rock The Roof lets patrons enjoy live music from the 1950s and 60s. Doors open at 5 pm and each week features two bands as well as an all-star band performing from 6-8:30 pm. Weekly car shows add to the nostalgia. Tickets are $5 at the door. Season Passes are available at the museum through June 21st for a reduced rate of $50. Food and drinks are available for purchase each week as well. New this year, weekly themes and door prizes.
