Listening to live music has a universal positive impact on well-being and has been successfully used as therapy for years because it makes people happier, has an analgesic effect, and helps people feel connected – all of which are vital for mental health and longevity.
Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association is pleased to partner with Oleson-Halweg American Legion Post 125 to produce this event for the first time in Merrill. “Doug Prewitt from the Oleson-Halweg American Legion reached out to me after he attended a "Rock 4 Vets" event in Spirit Lake last year. He appreciated what we were doing and wanted to have one a little closer to home,” said Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association’s Executive Director Cindy Stanbro. “After months of planning, the Oleson-Halweg American Legion Post 125 has put together a nice program and event to help raise awareness of resources for Veterans and provide a little music therapy for those who served. We are honored to partner with Oleson-Halweg American Legion Post 125 to serve the community.”
