Rock 4 Vets Still Giving

Oleson-Halweg American Legion Post had an early Christmas present for both the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association and Midwest Honor Flight Thursday night. The members of Post 125 had a $4,500 check to present to Midwest Honor Flight and a $500 check to present to Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association from the "Rock 4 Vets" event held November 3rd.

Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association and Oleson-Halweg American Legion Post 125 came together to give back by producing "Rock 4 Vets" November 3rd at the American Legion Post 125. Thanks to sponsors Jensen Dealership, North West REC, Rexwinkel Funeral Home, Plymouth Energy, Total Motors, Plymouth Feeds, and Williams & Company, all military were invited to attend for free. A nice crowd attended the first ever local event featuring live music from the Jammers and a recognition ceremony for all who served. Also at the event were representatives from Ply County Veterans Affairs and Sioux City VA to share information about their services. The purpose of the event was to honor all military, connect Veterans to resources, and raise funds for the Midwest Honor Flight. The total amount raised for Midwest Honor Flight from the event was $5,200.
