The Board of Directors of the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association (IRRMA) has reluctantly accepted the resignation of Executive Director Cindy Stanbro, Board President Ralph Kluseman announced today. Ms. Stanbro has accepted a position as Executive Director of a theater in Pennsylvania and is excited to move closer to family.
Kluseman said today, "I and the other members of the board are happy and excited for her as she begins her new role, but we are sorry to lose a valued leader of our organization."
Stanbro has served in her current role since 2017, overseeing all operations and management processes of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association along with growing new programs for young people and leading the development of the Association’s new museum.
During Stanbro’s tenure as Executive Director, she played a critical role in helping the Association adapt to significant changes in its management and mission. She served as a champion for establishing new partnerships across the state of Iowa and contributed significantly to the Association’s mission of honoring achievements, educating youth, and inspiring artists across the state of Iowa. “Cindy contributed in many ways to the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association and her achievements will not be forgotten. Her vision led to new opportunities for youth across the state of Iowa by expanding our Iowa Rocks Talent program, creating a Teen Music Association, providing live performance opportunities, and educational workshops for youth.” stated Ralph Kluseman, President of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association. “We thank her for all she has contributed to IRRMA and wish her the best of luck as she moves to Pennsylvania to begin the next chapter in her career.”
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association exists to preserve the legacy of rock ‘n roll music in Iowa by honoring achievements, educating youth, and inspiring artists. Established in 1997, it is a 501(c)(3) non-profit statewide organization with many areas of service including: Hall of Fame recognition, Rock ‘n Roll Museum, live music and other community events, the Iowa Rocks Talent competition for young performers, and educational outreach.
