Tom Tourville

1998 - Matousek Lifetime Achievement Award

Tom is a native of Fairmont, Minnesota and has lived in Iowa for over 25 years.  He is currently retired and living in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

His entire life he has spent in non-profit management and has his master’s degree in such. In his spare time, he enjoys writing columns for Midwest newspapers on Midwest rock and roll history. Tom has written and had published 30 books on Midwest rock and roll history. His latest, “Remembering South Central Minnesota’s Rock & Roll Years-1964-1977" is coming out in the spring of 2019. He is the co-founder of the Iowa Rock & Roll Music Association, and it’s Hall of Fame.

Tom and co-author Rebecca Peters have written the highly successful “Remembering Okoboji’s Roof Garden Ballroom” now in its fourth printing.

His love and passion for the Iowa Rock & Roll Music Association is second to none.
