The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association Announces
Iowa Rocks Talent Contest Winners

 

(Arnolds Park, IA) - The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association has announced that the Iowa Rocks Talent Contest winners. This is a statewide music talent contest for youth 21 years old and younger. The Solo Artist winner is Drew Morelock, guitarist and singer, from Farragut, Iowa, The Instrumental Winner is Jessie Hovland, the drummer for the band, Gilded Cage, from Pleasant Hill, Iowa and the Band Winner is Procedure with band members, Joshua Snuffin, Wyatt Dymond and Jack Nyberg from Des Moines, Iowa. The Iowa Rocks Talent Contest Finals were held on August 31st in the Roof Garden Ballroom located in Arnolds Park Amusement Park. The solo and band winners opened the Iowa Rock Hall of Fame Induction Concert held on Sunday, September 1st in the Roof Garden Ballroom. Winners were also introduced on Sunday   to the audience during the Hall of Fame induction ceremony held at the Sami Bedell Center for the Performing Arts in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

 

According to Ralph Kluseman, President of the Board of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association, “This was a statewide competition for Iowa’s young musicians to showcase the music they love and to compete for a grand prize of recording time at a major Iowa recording studio.”  “All of the finalists this year were incredible and it’s a testament to the talent here in Iowa.  We’re looking forward  to hearing the results of the recording sessions for our solo and band winners held at Catamount Recording Studios in Cedar Falls, Iowa.”

He added: “We send our thanks to our sponsors for this event: Lewis Family Drug, Catamount Recording, John Walachy Music Legacy, Northwest Wealth Management, LLC and Arnolds Park Amusement Park. In addition, thanks to all the support we receive from around the state of Iowa and the U.S. to make these events possible.”

The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association exists to preserve the legacy of rock and roll music in Iowa by honoring achievements, educating youth, and inspiring artists. Established in 1997, as a 501(c)(3) non- profit statewide organization.
