Statewide musical talent search for youth 21 and under

Arnolds Park) -The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association announced that enrollment starts June 21st for the 2024 Iowa Rocks Talent Contest.

According to Ralph Kluseman, President of the Board of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association, “We are proud to present the 10th annual “Iowa Rocks Talent” competition. This is a statewide competition for Iowa’s young musicians to showcase the music they love and to compete for a grand prize of recording time at a major Iowa recording studio.” Kluseman continued, “The first round of competition will be conducted virtually through video submission on our website for their musical presentations.

"We also want to thank all our sponsors for helping us bring this opportunity to the young people of Iowa.” Sponsors are Lewis Family Drug, Catamount Recording, Northwest Bank Wealth Management and the John Walachy Music Legacy.

Applicants should go to the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Associations’ website at  Within that link is an application form and a place to upload two YouTube video links. The deadline for all applications is 11:59 pm, Wednesday, July 31.

There are two divisions of competition, individual artist, or band (2 or more). Applicants should review the complete rules posted on the website.



The Operations Manager is Mindy Spinks. Mindy brings a strong background in providing educational opportunities to young people. As a former teacher and Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessments, she will be responsible for expanding the programming available at the Hall of Fame & Museum for all ages along with managing the day-to-day operations.

Mindy, who lives in Spirit Lake, will be the main point of contact for the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association Hall of Fame & Museum.




Jason Grinnen will hold the new position of Rock The Roof Entertainment Director and Stage Manager. He is a realtor and owner of B&J Karaoke, and lives in Spirit Lake. Rock The Roof concerts are held on Thursday evenings throughout the Summer.



The Class of 2024 will be inducted Labor Day Weekend in Arnolds Park


(Arnolds Park, IA) - The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association is pleased to announce the Hall of Fame Class of 2024 that will be honored during the Hall of Fame Induction Spectacular on Labor Day weekend, August 30-

September 1.


Ralph Kluseman, President of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Association stated, “This Class of 2024 Hall of Fame inductees honors the talent in Iowa and the talent of inductees from around the world that provide the joy of music in our lives. I look forward to welcoming everyone to Arnolds Park during the induction celebration planned for Labor Day weekend.”


There will be a Rock The Roof concert on Thursday, August 29 and an Okoboji Rocks Concert Series event on Friday, August 30 to kick off the induction weekend celebration. The Opening Ceremony , Iowa Rocks Talent Contest and Inductee Meet & Greet will all be on Saturday, August 31. The weekend culminates with the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Induction Ceremony, Autograph Party and Concert on Sunday, September 1.

​The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association annually inducts musicians, bands, DJs, ballrooms and others who have significantly contributed to rock and roll music in the State of Iowa.  Since incorporation in 1997, more than 500 entities and over 1,900 individuals have had the honor of being inducted or awarded. Inductees must have a minimum of 25 years of experience in the music industry.


The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association welcomes nominations through the website  Nominations that have been brought forward on or before September 2024 will be considered for the Induction Class of 2025
